Gary Thompson

Gary Thompson is Program Manager for java.net. He has a strong personal interest in encouraging the use of distributed collaborative development platforms like java.net in an academic setting. He has been researching Distributed Collaborative Software Development for three years at San Francisco State University in San Francisco, CA. and has two papers published on the topic, Teaching Practical Software Engineering and Global Software Engineering: A Case Study and Recommendations published by Frontiers in Education (ACM, IEEE) and Teaching Practical Software Engineering and Global Software Engineering: Evaluation and Comparison published by ACM SIGCSE He is currently writing a Masters Thesis on the topic.
